Description

A fully refurbished Buffet E11 clarinet in Bb. The serial number is 1221481, and below this is engraved ‘MADE IN GERMANY’.

The E11 is in Buffet’s intermediate line of clarinets, placing it between student instruments such as the B12 and professional instruments like the R13. It has a grenadilla wood body with silver plated keywork, both of which are in excellent condition on this example. It is fitted with white skin/felt pads (except for a synthetic pad on the register key).

I have thoroughly refurbished this instrument as follows:
 

• Fully dismantled.
• Cleaned key tubes, rods and body of clarinet (including the removal of some old adhesive below the thumb rest, from a previous owner).
• Oiled the bore.
• Polished keys, posts and tenon rings.
• Re-corked tenons.
• Replaced and seated pads as necessary.
• Replaced and adjusted key corks as necessary (including thumb rest cork).
• Oiled keys.
• Fully adjusted and set up.

Note that in the photos, the rod of the G# side key is protruding slightly – I have now screwed this back in properly!
